Security & Data Safety
CampSite leverages modern-day encryption algorithms to protect sensitive data and communications, including AES-256 and TLS 1.2. The lock icon in your browser indicates that data is fully shielded from access while in transit.
User Authentication & Permissions
Users access CampSite only with a valid username and password combination, which is encrypted during transmission. In addition, CampSite provides highly configurable user level permissions which are established when a user is added to the system. Permissions can be edited or revoked at any time.
The Security & Reliability Of Amazon’s Cloud
By partnering with Amazon’s cloud platform, CampSite is built on a highly proven infrastructure trusted by some of the world’s largest internet services.
- Amazon’s infrastructure has a high level of availability and provides the capability to deploy a resilient IT architecture. Amazon has designed its systems to tolerate infrastructure and hardware failures with minimal impact to its customers.
- Amazon utilizes a wide variety of automated monitoring systems to provide a high level of service performance and availability. Amazon’s monitoring tools are designed to detect unusual or unauthorized activities and conditions at ingress and egress communication points.
- All of CampSite’s services on Amazon are firewalled and set to “deny all” inbound traffic by default. Access to CampSite’s services are created and maintained for required use cases only.

Operating System Security
CampSite enforces tight operating system-level security by using a minimal number of access points to all production servers. We protect all operating system accounts with strong passwords, and utilize “best practice” password management and rotation policies. All operating systems are maintained at each vendor’s recommended patch levels for security and are hardened by disabling and/or removing any unnecessary users, protocols, and processes.
Database access is controlled at the operating system and database connection level for additional security. Access to production databases is strictly limited to a number of points.
Server Management Security
All data entered into the CampSite application by a customer is owned specifically by that customer. Our employees do not have direct access to the CampSite production equipment, except where necessary for system management, maintenance, monitoring, and backups.
Reliability & Backup
CampSite’s database uses InnoDB technology which allows us to restore your database to a specific point in time - meaning backups are continuous and always available. All customer data is stored on a primary database server that is mirrored to a backup database server for real-time redundancy.
