1. Why did you choose to work at CampSite?
I joined the CampSite team because I believe in the quality of the system and its ability to transform and simplify the administrative work camps have to juggle. Getting to be the person learning about all the specific ways camps use the same tools to different ends is a dream and helping to guide the development of new tools that will take the software to the next level is something I feel genuinely excited to facilitate.Â
2. What are you looking forward to in your role?
I can’t wait to start speaking with camp admin users! I want to know it all: what features do you love? What features do you want to love, but…? What features do you wish we had? And, more broadly, what takes up your time? What are unique challenges or characteristics of your camp and its people that we can support? I’m really looking forward to finding out.Â
3. What makes CampSite unique to you?
Regarding the people: It is not a given that the collaborative environment fostered at camps translates well or at all to other industries, but it absolutely is reflected here at CampSite. Ideas come from anywhere, and everyone really is just trying to use their skillset to make this shared thing as great as possible.
Regarding the product: CampSite has so many helpful features, but the advanced reporting capabilities stood out to me over the years as a user. Using them to restrict forms, prep check in materials, and keep all of the other departments in the know about what was happening at camp was so easy, and I loved to play with the different configurations until we landed on something that worked for everyone.
4. What experience or skills do you bring that will help you serve our customers (and camps/ the camp industry) well?
I have always been a curious person, prone to happily diving down a contextual rabbit hole or two, and being a researcher by trade is just a professional extension of those tendencies. I look forward to gaining a stronger sense of how our user camps are similar and distinct from one another, and to casting a wide net to learn as much as possible. My analytical background and training will help to quantify the phenomena beyond the hunches, pain points and anecdotes shared with me.
In terms of experience, my career in camping has spanned nearly 15 years and several states. In that time I have taken part in almost every facet of camp life, worked across age groups and camper/staff demographics, and navigated various program types, from traditional full summer or set-session overnight models, to general day camp and sports camps, to after school and school-day-off programming, to scouts. This will help me to understand not only how camps are making things work for them, but also some different ways other organizations approach the same task, to create a more complete solution for all our users. It will enable me to go beyond the “what” we’re all trying to accomplish to get to the “why” and “how” it can work in CampSite.

1. Why did you choose to work at CampSite?
I was really impressed by the culture I’d heard about and then experienced firsthand during my interviews. Everyone I spoke with was so great, and I knew I wanted to join a team where I could contribute to a positive atmosphere and help make a real difference for our clients.
2. What are you looking forward to in your role?
I’m excited to help camp leaders get more organized. When their operations are running smoothly, it frees them up to focus on what matters most: creating an unforgettable experience for their campers.
3. What makes CampSite unique to you?
I appreciate that CampSite offers the flexibility of a remote position while maintaining a small, personal, and close-knit team. This combination feels unique and creates a more engaging work experience than a typical corporate job.
4. What experience or skills do you bring that will help you serve our customers (and camps/ the camp industry) well?
My background in education will be valuable for training camps on how to use our software. Additionally, my experience in higher education has equipped me with strong skills for learning new systems, and my firsthand knowledge of the camp industry will help me understand and address the specific needs of each camp.
